Brad Miller HRs in 8th inning Personalized Jaguars Jersey in Rays’ win

ST. PETERSBURG — In his third game back from the disabled list, Brad Miller provided a huge lift for his team heading into the All-Star break, smashing a Personalized Jaguars Jersey two-run homer off Joe Kelly that snapped a tie and led the Rays to a 5-3 victory over the Red Sox on Sunday.

“I knew when I hit it that it had a chance to go,” Miller said. “So that felt pretty good.”

Full Game Coverage

Miller smashed the 85.9-mph curveball to center field with two outs in the Custom Jaguars Jersey eighth, one inning after Dustin Pedroia put the Red Sox in front with a two-run homer against Chris Archer.

“It was not a bad curveball,” said Kelly, who admitted he wanted to throw it a tad lower. “It doesn’t bounce, which was the worst part, but he’s a good hitter. The stats might not show it this year, but he hit 30 home runs last year. He stayed back pretty well and … he put a good swing on it.”

The Rays took three Josh Donaldson Jersey out of four in the series. They now trail the Red Sox by just 3 1/2 games in the American League East, and are in a tie with the Yankees for second place.

“That felt good,” Miller said. “Obviously huge series win to keep it from 2-2 to 3-1 right there against a team we’re looking up at. So that was a lot of fun.”Men’s Nike Custom Made Jacksonville Jaguars Elite Team Color Teal Green NFL Jersey.

David Price, pitching against his protege and former teammate Archer, turned in another strong effort for the Red Sox. The lefty held the Rays to five hits and two runs over six innings, walking two and striking out five. It was the fourth consecutive quality start for Price and another encouraging sign that he’s over the left elbow strain that forced him to miss the first two months of the season.

“Archer threw the ball extremely well,” Price said. “Whenever you give up crooked numbers and the opposing pitcher is throwing the ball he was, it makes it tough for your offense. Just a good baseball game and we didn’t come out on the upper end.”

The All-Star Archer allowed three earned runs on eight hits over 6 2/3 innings and struck out eight. Both pitchers took no-decisions, as this game came down to the bullpens.

After Pedroia’s go-ahead homer, the Rays came right back to tie on a
Women’s Toronto Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Majestic White Flex Base 40th Anniversary Patch Jersey sacrifice fly from Corey Dickerson.

“You know what, we got a team win,” Archer said. “I threw the ball pretty well. I gave up two homers. The team picked me up.”

Mookie Betts staked the Red Sox to a 1-0 lead just three pitches into the game by belting the 11th leadoff homer of his career to pass Jacoby Ellsbury for a franchise record.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED

Benintendi catches foul fly, Rays tie it: With runners at the corners and one out, Dickerson hit a foul ball to medium-depth left field that left Andrew Benintendi with a decision: Let the ball drop in foul territory so a run doesn’t score, or take the out. Benintendi took the out, and Mallex Smith tagged up and beat the throw home to tie it.

“There’s no thought in my mind about dropping it,” Benintendi said. “If i drop it, someone else could hit a home run. It never crossed my mind.”

Red Sox manager John Farrell said Benintendi made the right decision.

“Not in the seventh inning,” Farrell said, when asked if a case could be made for Benintendi letting it drop foul. “We’ve got two more shots and if the throw is on line he probably throws him out. As good an arm as Benny’s got, that’s a play that if you don’t make, you might be inviting even more trouble. No question Benny’s attempt to catch the ball and get an out at home plate.”

Dickerson makes great grab, doubles off Hanley: With Hanley Ramirez on first Josh Donaldson Jersey For Sale and one out in the sixth, Jackie Bradley Jr. smashed one to deep left and Dickerson raced to the wall, timed his leap perfectly and made a great catch. Not only that, but Ramirez strayed too far from first and was doubled off to end the inning.

QUOTABLE
“We’re in first. I feel like we still haven’t fully blossomed. I think we still have a long way to go. When the time gets ready, I think we’ll be right where we need to be.”
— Betts

“Curveball. Fastball was 102 [mph], so I did not see that one. I mean 102. That guy is nasty.”
— Miller, when asked about the pitch he hit for a home run

SOUND SMART WITH YOUR FRIENDS
• Betts has started the last 85 games, the longest streak by a Red Sox player since Pedroia started 94 straight in a stretch that went from 2011-12.

• Alex Colome recorded his 25th save. That’s the most by a Ray since Fernando Rodney (25) in 2012. Roberto Hernandez’s 26 saves at the break in 1999 is the club’s high-water mark.

MILLER’S TEAR
Miller’s home run was his first since May 9 against the Royals, but he’d only played in 10 games (eight starts) since then. It was the third time in his career he’s hit a go-ahead homer in the Personalized Vikings Jersey eighth inning or later.

“Brad Miller’s had a long season to this point, with injuries,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. “Probably not performing to the standard he set last year. But wow. It was a pretty big hit. It might have been as big as any in his Rays career.”

WHAT’S NEXT
Red Sox: Left-hander Drew Pomeranz, who closed the first half on a strong note, is slated to start the opener of a four-game series against the Yankees on Friday night at Fenway Park. Pomeranz has pitched well against New York over the years, going 2-1 with a 2.40 ERA in six appearances. The game starts at 7:10 p.m. ET.

Rays: Jacob Faria will get the nod when the Rays open the second half in Anaheim against the Angels in Friday’s 10:07 p.m. ET contest. The right-hander has six consecutive quality starts since joining the team June 7.

Rays pitcher Brent Honeywell Men’s Nike Custom Made Jacksonville Jaguars Elite Team Color Teal Green NFL Jersey Futures Game MVP

MIAMI — Yes, Brent Honeywell throws a screwball, though he’d prefer that people not view his mound artistry as some kind of novelty act. The Rays standout put his entire arsenal on display at Marlins Park on Sunday Personalized Jaguars Jersey, becoming the first pitcher in the 19-year history of the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game to win the Larry Doby Award as the game’s MVP.Men’s Nike Custom Made Jacksonville Jaguars Elite Team Color Teal Green NFL Jersey.

Honeywell set an early tone of dominance in a 7-6 U.S. victory over the World team, striking out four over two scoreless innings. The 22-year-old right-hander hurled a 1-2-3 first inning before pitching around a second-inning single by Rafael Devers (Red Sox No. 1 prospect; MLB No. 12).

• US pounces early Josh Donaldson Jersey For Sale, hangs on for Futures win

“This is actually the coolest thing I’ve ever done. I don’t think I’ve ever won a real MVP,” Honeywell said. “This is kind of cool. I thank them for letting me do this. I really, really wanted this start.”

Though Honeywell snapped off just one screwball out of 34 pitches, zipping a sharp one past Alex Verdugo (Dodgers No. 2; MLB No. 50) for a called third strike in the first inning, it became the talk of the U.S. clubhouse after Sunday’s game.Women’s Toronto Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Majestic White Flex Base 40th Anniversary Patch Jersey.

“I’d kind of thrown him everything,” Honeywell said. “I thought, ‘If I’m going to do it, I’m just going to do it right here.’ If it’s good, it’s going to be the only one, and it was a really good one. I probably couldn’t throw it any better than that on TV.”

Honeywell’s delighted teammates-for-a-day raved that they had seen something special.

• Honeywell’s nasty screwball on display at Futures Game

“Honeywell’s screwball is unbelievable,” said Brewers outfielder Lewis Brinson (Brewers No. 1; MLB No. 13). “I don’t know what it is, but it started at their dugout and ended up in the strike zone. That was nasty.”

Honeywell picked up the pitch from former big leaguer Mike Marshall, a cousin who used it heavily while winning the 1974 National League Cy Young Award with the Dodgers. Honeywell also boasts a fastball, slider, curveball and changeup, preferring to pepper the zone with those pitches over the suggestions of catcher Chance Cisco (Orioles No. 1; MLB No. 84).

“I was calling for [the screwball],” Cisco said. “He obviously knows himself the best, so I let him shake me off whenever he wanted. He threw it the one time on the strikeout looking, and it was filthy. I describe it as a left-handed slider, so coming out of a righty’s hand, it’s weird.”

The Rays selected Honeywell with the No. 72 overall pick in 2014 out of Walters State Community College in Tennessee. He’s currently ranked by MLBPipeline.com as the No. 22 prospect in the game (Rays’ No. 2).

“He really located his fastball very well,” U.S. manager Charles Johnson said. “Once you do that, it opens the door for your offspeed pitches. He has a great changeup, and the little screwball he throws, once you establish that and you can throw a fastball for strikes around the plate, you will get a lot of guys to chase your offspeed pitches.”

Honeywell is 8-7 with a 4.54 ERA in 15 starts for Triple-A Durham, where he has struck out 99 against 22 walks in 79 1/3 innings. While those numbers are not as slim as he’d like, Honeywell believes he is on the Custom Jaguars Jersey cusp of making a jump to the next level.

“I try to treat every game the same, including this one,” Honeywell said. ‘There’s just a lot more people watching.”

Red Sox,Personalized Jaguars Jersey Rays keep rolling at the Trop

Jake Odorizzi will face Drew Pomeranz on Friday night as the Rays and Red Sox continue their first series of 2017 in St. Petersburg.

Pomeranz Josh Donaldson Jersey For Sale has figured things out recently. He’s 5-1 with a 2.52 ERA in his last nine starts, striking out 53 over 50 innings. He faced the Rays twice before that stretch began, giving up seven Personalized Jaguars Jersey earned runs in 7 1/3 innings while fanning 13.

Odorizzi, on the other hand, will be trying to recalibrate his mechanics and get back on track in time for the second half of the season.

Odorizzi set a franchise record in his last outing by allowing a home run in his 12th consecutive game. He had a 3.14 ERA through nine starts, but has a Custom Jaguars Jersey 5.58 mark over his last six. He has given up three runs or more in each of those six starts since June 2, though he has a 2-1 record over that time to show for it.Women’s Toronto Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Majestic White Flex Base 40th Anniversary Patch Jersey.

Three things to know about this game

• Expect to see plenty of pitches up in the strike zone: Among starters who have thrown 1,000 pitches, Odorizzi and Pomeranz are first and second, respectively, at spotting pitches at the upper part of the zone and higher. Odorizzi throws there 29.48 percent of the time, and Pomeranz locates there on 26.04 percent of his pitches, according to Statcast.

• Boston’s Mookie Betts does not sacrifice at-bats by striking out in search of power. He strikes out in 9.2 percent of his at-bats while averaging 0.217 extra-base hits per appearance (otherwise known as Isolated Power). That ratio of 2.35 Josh Donaldson Jersey extra bases per strikeout is best in the Majors among qualified hitters.

• Left-handers have batted .344 against Pomeranz this season, with Rays lefties going 6-for-11 with two triples and a homer in two matchups. But Pomeranz, who Custom Vikings Jersey hasn’t had much trouble with lefties in his career, has the second-largest gaps between his actual batting average allowed and expected average allowed (.229) among southpaws (minimum 50 at-bats).

Home Run Derby 2017 FAQs Men’s Nike Custom Made Jacksonville Jaguars Elite Team Color Teal Green NFL Jersey

For one night, on one stage, in an event that showcases a signature skill, the sport without a clock embraces the entertainment of a Custom Vikings Jersey ticking timer and the buzz of the occasional buzzer beater. The T-Mobile Home Run Derby has featured many rules iterations in its 32 years of existence, but the decision in 2015 to do away with the “outs” and subject the sluggers to a time limit added a new — and needed — energy to the event.Men’s Nike Custom Made Jacksonville Jaguars Elite Team Color Teal Green NFL Jersey.

Play Derby Bracket Challenge for shot at WS tix

That energy is palpable tonight at Miami’s Marlins Park, where the Derby, broadcast on ESPN Josh Donaldson Jersey, features Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, Mike Moustakas, Miguel Sano, Charlie Blackmon, Justin Bour and Gary Sanchez. ESPN’s broadcast is simulcast on MLB.com.

Stanton, the defending Derby champ, and his predecessor, Todd Frazier, validated the tweaked Derby format with truly memorable performances at Petco Park and Great American Ball Park, respectively. As a result, the same format will be used this year.

Play the Home Run Derby game

So here is a refresher on the format that is in place tonight:

How are the seeds decided?
For starters, Stanton was given the No. 1 seed by virtue of his win a year ago. From there, seeds were determined by 2017 home run totals entering Wednesday’s play. Tiebreakers were determined by home run totals since June 15, as stipulated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.Women’s Toronto Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Majestic White Flex Base 40th Anniversary Patch Jersey.

Posnanski: Derby a bigger deal than ever

Entering play on Wednesday, that put Judge (28 homers) at No. 2, Bellinger (24) at No. 3, Moustakas (24) at No. 4, Sano (20) at No. 5, Blackmon (18) at No. 6, Bour (18) at No. 7 and Sanchez (13) at No. 8. From June 15 until Wednesday, Bellinger had seven homers to Moustakas’ two, while Blackmon had three to Bour’s two. Moustakas hit his 25th home run after the deadline for Derby seeding.

What is the format?
It’s a single-elimination bracket system with three rounds total. In each bracket, the higher seed hits second. In the first round, Stanton faces Sanchez, Judge faces Bour, Bellinger faces Blackmon and Moustakas faces Sano.

Batters will have four minutes per round. The clock starts with the release of the first pitch. Interestingly, when the new format was created in 2015, batters were supposed to have five minutes per round. With rain in the forecast in Cincinnati that night, the decision was made to shorten the rounds to four minutes. The event went so well that MLB opted to keep the four-minute rounds in effect.Youth Nike Custom Made Minnesota Vikings Elite Purple Team Color NFL Jersey Cheap.

It should be noted that once the second player in a given round exceeds the home run total of his opponent, the round ends. There is no need for a player to add to his tally.

After the first round, the winner of the Stanton-Sanchez matchup will meet the winner of Moustakas-Sano. On the other side of the bracket, the Judge-Bour winner faces the Bellinger-Blackmon winner. The two players left standing will meet in the final round.

Can players stop the clock?
Yes. In the first round and semifinals, each batter is entitled to one 45-second timeout. In the finals, each batter gets two timeouts — one for 45 Custom Jaguars Jersey seconds and another for 30 seconds.

Derby countdown: Who’s got the best odds?

In the 2015 semifinals against Josh Donaldson, Frazier took his timeout with one minute, 49 seconds remaining in the round while trailing, 9-6. He regrouped and Personalized Jaguars Jersey wound up tying Donaldson with less than 10 seconds left before drilling a 444-foot blast just as time expired to advance to the finals against Joc Pederson.

The timeout wound up working against Frazier a year later, because after Stanton hit just six homers in the first 1:35 of the finals, he took a timeout, then pounded out 14 more following the breather to take the title away from the Toddfather.

Can participants earn bonus time?
Yes, 30 seconds of bonus time will be awarded for hitting at least two home runs that each equal or exceed 440 feet. Distances will be tracked and posted using Statcast™. Any bonus time will be awarded at the end of the initial four-minute round and the timer will not stop during the bonus time period.

Jack facts: A stats preview of the Derby

Frazier’s earned bonus time was the difference-maker in the 2015 finals. He had tied Pederson just before his “regulation” time expired, then teed off on the Derby-winning homer in his first swing of bonus time.

How are ties broken?
Ties in any round will be broken by a 60-second swing-off with no stoppage of time or additional time added. If a tie remains after the swing-off, batters will engage in Personalized Vikings Jersey successive three-swing swing-offs until there is a winner.

There has not yet been a swing-off under the format installed in 2015.

Logan Morrison finishes 5th in AL Final Personalized Jaguars Jersey Vote

ST. PETERSBURG — Rays first baseman Logan Morrison finished fifth in the Custom Jaguars Jersey Esurance All-Star Game Final Vote, with Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas taking the final spot on the AL roster.

Morrison is second in the AL in home runs, with 24, trailing New York’s Aaron Judge. Honeywell is looking forward to his opportunity to shine.

“I’m excited for it,” said Honeywell in a recent phone interview. “I’ve never been to Miami. I guess that will be a fun time.”

Durham manager Jared Sandberg will join Honeywell on the U.S. team, serving as the first-base coach. Shortstop Lucius Fox (Class A Bowling Green), who hails from Nassau, Bahamas, is on the World Team’s roster.

Honeywell noted that the game will be played on a start day for him.

“So hopefully I get a start,” he said. “That would be cool to start the game.”

The Rays selected Honeywell, 22, with the No. 72 overall pick in 2014 out of Walters State Community College in Tennessee. He’s currently ranked by MLBPipeline.com as the organization’s No. 2 prospect.

Above all else, Honeywell is a strike-thrower with a mid-90s fastball that sets up four secondary pitches, including a screwball and a plus changeup. He’s athletic, with smooth mechanics. He’s also a fearless competitor and draws raves for his ability to mix pitches, set up hitters and execute a game plan.

“He’s got good stuff,” Rays farm director Mitch Lukevics said. “Has a repeatable delivery. And he’s cocky and confident, which is a good quality.”

Honeywell has scuffled a little with his control lately. He allowed 10 walks in 13 2/3 innings in three starts prior to his start on July 4, when he allowed no runs on three hits and a walk while striking out nine.

“You never know how a player is going to come until you see how he handles failure,” Lukevics said. “How you handle failure is everything. How he’s handled it so far is a good sign.”

Honeywell allowed that he just needs to “figure out how to get back on track.”

“In my opinion, the runs that I give up are out of my control. But I do know I can control the walk total. … If you make a good pitch, you should get the guy out. If you execute the Personalized Vikings Jersey pitch you want in a situation, you’re going to get the guy out more times than not.”

Honeywell doesn’t like the way his numbers look this season (9-8, with a 4.19 ERA in 17 starts between Montgomery and Durham), but that’s not about to knock him off kilter.

“Even though I got knoked Custom Vikings Jerseyc around a little bit early this year, it wasn’t like I didn’t feel like I was ready to pitch in the big leagues,” he said. “I feel like I’m knocking on the door. I felt like I was knocking on the door last year.”

Where We Stand: Running Backs Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson

The thunder-and-lightning combination of Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon kept the seat warm and the ground game going during Adrian Peterson’s 15-game absence last season. Now, Peterson is back and so too are Asiata, McKinnon and a host of others at the RB and FB position that make this part of the roster one of the deepest. However it is offensive coordinator Norv Turner wants to incorporate the RBs into his plans this season, he’ll have plenty of options in his stable and that should ultimately take pressure off young QB Teddy Bridgewater.

The last time Adrian Peterson “came back” from something, he had a season for the ages, rushing for 2,000 yards along the way to earning NFL MVP honors. While he is a few years removed from that epic campaign in 2012, is anyone seriously going to doubt his ability to come back with a vengeance in 2015 after missing 15 games a year ago? Peterson’s presence on the field will aide Teddy Bridgewater and the passing game, and it forces defenses on the schedule this season to essentially forget about studying Norv Turner’s offense last season because it’s a whole new ball game with #28 coming at them this season.

Having to play 15 games without Adrian Peterson Jersey last season allowed the Vikings to get an even better look at rookie Jerick McKinnon, and what the team saw was encouraging. “Jet” averaged 4.8 yards per carry on 113 attempts, and it was this run against the Atlanta Falcons that perhaps best demonstrated the type of playmaking ability the diminutive and tough runner possesses. Whether Peterson needs a quick breather or the Vikings just want to mix it up with a change of pace, McKinnon looks to be a great complement to Peterson.

You’d think rushing for nine touchdowns as the team’s workhorse would essentially secure a roster spot for the following season. That may not be the case this time for Matt Asiata. But don’t worry on Asiata’s behalf – all he’s done during his career is work, bite, scratch and claw for everything he’s earned. There are few players who epitomize what Mike Zimmer wants his team to be more than Asiata, and that’s why it won’t be any surprise to see him remain on the roster even with Peterson’s return and McKinnon’s emergence. But it won’t come without serious competition for a spot coming from Joe Banyard,DuJuan Harris and Dominique Williams.

Pro Bowler Jerome Felton bolted for the Buffalo Bills, so if the Vikings are to keep a FB on the roster it will likely come down to Zach Line or rookie Blake Renaud. Line started the first three games of 2014 in Felton’s place and has been on the Vikings roster since he signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2013 draft. There’s a reason the Vikings have held onto him this long, but there’s also a reason another FB is on the roster.

The Custom Vikings Jersey want to foster competition everywhere they can, and they’re doing that at FB by having Renaud come to camp to see if he can push Line. In the numbers game that is whittling the roster down from 90 players to 53 for the Vikings this year, it will be interesting to see how the FB position fits in. Will the Vikings roster a full-time FB? Or will they look to save a roster spot by having one of the RBs (Asiata?) or TEs (Ellison) take on the added responsibility? There’s a sense that the FB position is in play with Turner, but only time will tell if Line or Renaud can win a job.
